Rockin' Across Texas by Stanley Oberst is a very good book about Elvis' concert tours in Texas in the 1950's and 1970's. FTD's updated version features new stories, updated old stories and some especially rare photographs. Accompanying the book are two Elvis concert 'soundboard' recordings : the June 19, 1974 show in Amarillo, Texas and the July 3, 1976 show in Fort Worth, Texas. There's also a short, previously unreleased 1960 interview recording with Elvis and his manager Colonel Tom Parker.
The two CD's included are fantastic and are of a better standard than some of the regular soundboards!! So basically with the book you get a genuine value with the two CDs!! Plus we get a great quality version of 'America' from '76 for the first time from BMG.
